SOLERRAIN

The style of our music is melodic death metal.

We had our first live shows in September, 2004. By now we’ve played about 70 gigs in different clubs in Saint-Petersburg and abroad. Our special features are our music style, which is not typical for Russian metal, and our spectacular performances that helps us to attract the attention broad audience since the first gigs. Besides, nowadays, this band is probably one of the most professional among those in Russia.

The making of the album consisted of two parts:

The first part:
“Phantom Pain” Studio (Saint-Petersburg).
with Igor Anokhin as sound-engineer.

The second part:
“Astia-Studio” (Lappeenranta, FINLAND).
with Anssi Kippo (known by his work with CHILDREN OF BODOM, NORTHER…) as mixing engineer.

2004
Solerrain history started on 12 September, 2004. In February, 2004 Ruzanov Dmitry (lead guitar) and Ermoshin Alexander (rhythm guitar), who knew each other since elementary school and were united by the idea of playing heavy but melodic music, started to look for other band members. In a short time Romashkin-Timanov Alexey (drums) joined the band. A little later another band member –Alexander Strokanov (bass guitar) came. But the band still had no vocals and keyboards.
In May Nikonorov Anton (vocals) joined the band. After series of misfortunes with looking for keyboard, Zhirkova Olga (keyboard) joined the band in May, 2004.
Vocals gave the band dark atmosphere and screaming, heavy riffs, fast guitar solos and drums made a good mixture with a little bit “pop” keyboards.
Having made up the line-up, the band started to work on material. In a few months problems started with drummer. He was studying in the university and had little time for the music so the band had to look for another drummer.

After a few weeks of active search the second drummer - Zhinkov Grigory - was found and the work on material has begun immediately.
On December 23, the first drummer Alexey left the band.

2005
On March, 20 Grigory left the band due to creative difficulties. In spite of all problems the band continued to give all scheduled live performances using studio drums. In November Promo CD was recorded.
On July, 23 Yakovlev Alexander was given an audition and became a member of the band. But collaboration wasn’t long – Alexander left the band on November, 25.

2006
On March, 3 the band started to record debut album with session drummer Vasily.
In April Nikonorov Anton (vocals) left.
On September 3, Ermoshin Alexander (rhythm guitar) decided to end his musical career and left the band.
Search continued and in a two months the band contacted with Tarasenko Vladimir (drums). After an audition he became a «member of the family».

2007
On May, 26 Michael Antipov was given an audition and filled the vacancy of rhythm guitarist.
